Terms of Use

Last updated: July 2026

FileAFriend is a novelty entertainment service that turns a few details into a mock, official-looking "complaint" about a friend, for laughs. By using it, you agree to these Terms.

1. It's for fun, between friends

FileAFriend is entertainment. Everything it produces is fictional and satirical. A "case file" is not a real legal, government, or official document, and nothing here is legal advice. You agree to use FileAFriend only for good-natured fun with people who are in on the joke.

2. What you may not do

You agree not to use FileAFriend to harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, defame, or demean anyone; to target a person who has not consented to the joke; to create content that is hateful, sexual, or involves minors; to impersonate real officials or agencies; to include someone's private or sensitive information; or for anything illegal. We encourage first names or nicknames rather than full names and identifying details.

3. Your content is your responsibility

You are solely responsible for what you create and who you share it with, and you confirm you have the right to do so. You agree to indemnify FileAFriend and its operator against claims arising from your content or your use of the service.

4. Takedown and removal

Every case page includes a report/remove link, and case creators can delete their own cases. We may remove any content and suspend any account at our discretion, especially where these Terms are violated.

5. Accounts and tokens

You are responsible for your account and keeping your password secure. Sending a case costs tokens, which are a digital credit with no cash value. Except where required by law, token purchases are non-refundable. Prices and features may change.

6. No warranty; limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the past 12 months.

7. Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms; continued use means acceptance. These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE/JURISDICTION โ€” to be completed]. Questions: [contact email โ€” to be completed].

A tongue-in-cheek complaint made for fun between friends is not a legal or official notice, and not a tool for harassment.
